INFOPÊCHE at the heart of the regional dynamic for the empowerment of women and youth
By INFOPÊCHE
On April 28 and 29, 2026, in Abuja (Nigeria), the CEDEAO, in collaboration with the Secretariat of the ZLECAf, the Mastercard Foundation and TradeMark Africa, organized a regional workshop dedicated to women and youth in the fishing and aquaculture value chain in West Africa.
At this strategic meeting, the Director of INFOPÊCHE, Akaffou Casimir Eric, took an active part, bringing his expertise and vision for a more inclusive and competitive fisheries sector.
A highlight of this workshop was the promotion of the African Market for the Commercialization of Fish and Aquaculture Products (MACPPA), an innovative initiative led by INFOPÊCHE.
Invited specially by the organizers, the Director proceeded to a detailed presentation of this ambitious digital platform, designed to:
✔ facilitate commercial exchanges at the regional and continental levels;
✔ ensure secure and reliable transactions;
✔ offer new economic opportunities to sector actors, particularly young people and women;
✔ support the objectives of the blue economy in Africa.
Through the WYEEFIMA program, this workshop aims to strengthen networks, promote respect for standards and build an inclusive and sustainable commercial environment.
With MACPPA, INFOPÊCHE confirms its commitment to propose concrete and innovative solutions to transform sustainably the fishing and aquaculture sector in Africa.
A clear vision: connect, secure and dynamize the trade of fishery products in service of continent's development.
