13th Ordinary Session of the Board of Directors of INFOPÊCHE

On September 7, 2026, the 13th ordinary session of the Board of Directors of the Intergovernmental Organization for Information and Cooperation for the Marketing of Fisheries Products in Africa (INFOPÊCHE) was held by videoconference.
The work of this session was conducted under the chairmanship and leadership of Mr. Sidi Tiemoko Touré, Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources of Côte d’Ivoire and also Chairman of the Board of Directors of INFOPÊCHE, demonstrating a rich and varied experience of the functioning of States, international organizations and institutional partnerships.
The session saw the effective participation of several Member States of the Organization, with the high-level presence of Dr. Virginia Pires, Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy of Guinea-Bissau, Ms. Fatima Camara, Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy of the Republic of Guinea and senior officials from the Ministries in charge of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
The work focused in particular on the review and adoption of the 2025 activity report, the 2026 activity program of INFOPÊCHE as well as the INFOPÊCHE 2027-2031 strategic development plan.
Following the exchanges and discussions, the Member States welcomed the notable progress made by the new Directorate led by Mr. AKAFFOU Atse Casimir Éric and gave their approval for the implementation of the 2026 Activity Programme and the INFOPÊCHE 2027-2031 Strategic Development Plan, subject to the consideration of their written observations.
This is an important step towards strengthening regional cooperation and promoting the modernization of the fisheries sector while emphasizing the practice of sustainable fishing in the service of Member States.
